A new Director for the CSG

The Guiana Space Centre, Europe’s space port from where Ariane 5, Soyuz and Vega blast off, has had a new “boss” since 1 July 2012. Joël Barre has therefore handed over management of the CSG to Bernard Chemoul (above photograph). Born in January 1958 and a graduate of ENSMA (École Nationale Supérieure de Mécanique et d’Aérotechnique / French National Superior School of Mechanics and Aeronautics), he was previously Deputy Director and Protection, Safety and Environment Assistant Manager for the centre since 2008.
