NASCAR at KSC
Since 2008, some of the racing teams in the American NASCAR championship have been using the shuttle landing strip at the Kennedy Space Centre (KSC) in Florida to test their vehicles. They like the fact that the runway is considered to be one of the flattest surfaces in the world. The structure behind the car is the Mate-Demate Device for placing shuttles on, or removing them from, the Boeing 747 that carries them.

  • Soyuz in Guiana
