Mountain of God
The bottom left-hand corner of this radar image from the European Envisat satellite shows Tanzania’s only active volcano, Ol Doinyo Lengai, which means “Mountain of God”. At the top and in the bottom right-hand corner, it is possible to see the Gelai and Kitumbeine volcanoes, both of which are now extinct.
