One small dish for Man

Food is essential not only for the astronauts’ good health (their menus are carefully prepared by dieticians), but also for their moral (before leaving, they all choose their favourite dishes). For his third year film at the Supinfocom School in Arles, Corentin Charron imagined a highly unusual way of preparing a meal in space (see the video below). True, it’s a long way from reality but it’s very poetic and enhanced with humour: watch notably how a carrot is chopped with a knife under weightless conditions, and the final gag where the most abundantly stocked ingredient proves to be... wine! However, we would reiterate that astronauts are officially forbidden to drink alcohol in orbit. In short, “One small dish for Man”, in the words of the title, for a giant culinary leap!
